Does your provider have All-American Roots?

Several of the larger companies who provide educational travel opportunities to Washington, D.C. are now owned by foreign corporations. WorldStrides was founded in 1967 by a middle school teacher from Chicago, Illinois who started Lakeland Tours.  Located in the heart of the Midwest, this small family business started by an American entrepreneur grew to be the nation’s leader in student travel.

In 1979, we relocated our headquarters to Charlottesville, VA, just two hours from the nation’s capital. Then in the late 1990’s, Lakeland Tours joined with five other American-born companies to become WorldStrides.
Does your provider have All-American Support?

When you and your students travel on a WorldStrides program, you’re being supported by more than 1000 travel professionals across 13 offices in the U.S. WorldStrides is proud to provide jobs and support local economies from Seattle to Orlando, Los Angeles to New York City.
We are also proud to protect and educate America’s youth through our commitment to:

  • Safe and Secure travel programs
  • Learning that extends Beyond Classroom Walls
  • Passionate and Professional support teams
Does your provider have All-American Investments?

At WorldStrides, we believe the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow. In order to make sure the current economic strain doesn’t prevent our future leaders from having the experience of a lifetime, we donated over $550,000 in FLAG scholarships in 2009 and have committed to donating $750,000 in 2010 to help students finance their trips.
