Springfield

The life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln come alive as students explore his childhood home and the old Capitol building, while also seeing today's modern government at the Illinois State Capitol.

Springfield

As President Lincoln’s home for nearly 25 years, Springfield offers multiple landmarks dedicated to preserving his legacy, including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Springfield also provides a backdrop for students to learn about the state’s past and present government while exploring the Old State Capitol and the current State Capitol Building. Students will visit Lincoln’s New Salem Village, where they will experience 19th-century life firsthand. On a WorldStrides DiscoverNow! trip to Springfield, students will develop a better understanding of the legislative process and an appreciation for the state’s rich history.
