WorldStrides program:
East Coast History - Discover D.C.
Places/Sites visited:
In Washington, D.C. we visited the White House, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Institute, Mount Vernon, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial, WWII Memorial, FDR Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial.
Favorite site:
I liked the FDR Memorial because of the waterfalls and the different quotes on the walls. It had meaning to it. The structure, and everything about it, was beyond beautiful.
Tell us about your Course Leader:
Mrs. Joyce Tami was a very nice woman. She knew a lot about D.C. history. She was also patient and calm with our group. I really liked her, and her wardrobe.
Favorite memory:
Meeting veterans who actually fought in World War II was an unforgettable experience.
Overall impression of the trip:
This trip was one of the best life experiences ever. I had so much fun, especially being there with my friends and classmates. I went on this trip twice, and I'd still go again. It never gets old.
